This architecture (found in the Mk8 Golf and the all-electric ID series) utilizes the new glossy-black pebble style smart keys. Adding a key to this system requires bypassing VW's new SFD (Secured Feature Deactivation) Gateway and performing complex data extraction from your original key.

If you have at least one working key, our technicians have the advanced hardware required to extract the data, authorize the SFD gateway, and program a brand-new proximity smart key to your vehicle.

🚨 "ALL KEYS LOST" POLICY (STRICT REQUIREMENT) Due to the extreme 128-bit AES encryption of the VW 5D architecture, we have a strict policy for vehicles with zero working keys:

• We cannot generate a 5D key from scratch. Because we must extract security data from a working key to authorize a spare, having zero keys means you are locked out of the system.

• If you have lost every key to your vehicle, you MUST order a pre-coded factory key directly from a Volkswagen dealership using your VIN.

• Once you receive your dealer-ordered key, we can perform the complex server-side programming to synchronize it to your vehicle's gateway.

📍 SERVICE DETAILS & WARRANTY

• In-Shop Service Only: Because the 5D system requires data extraction from your original key and an online SFD gateway unlock, the car and your original key must be present at our shop. We cannot program these keys remotely or by mail.

• Appointment Required: Due to the complex diagnostic work required for 5D systems, please allow 45–60 minutes for this service. Please contact us to schedule your visit.

• 30-Day Guarantee: We provide a 30-day warranty on the key's electronics, the battery, and our programming labor. (Note: Once a key is laser-cut and programmed to your specific VIN, the sale is final).
